Modern Guilt
Rock/Pop - Produced with Danger Mouse of Gnarls Barkley, 10th album album from the always-interesting Beck has a decidedly 60's Brit rock feel, with some psychedelic flourishes that would seem to be lifted from an early Pink Floyd album and some impressive Keith Moon-style drumming from Joey Waronker. The first retro-styled track "Chemtrails" is available for a listen at his website here. The new ten-track project includes "Profanity Prayers", "Youthless" and "Orphans". Last two releases - '05's "Guero" and '06's "The Information" - have sold more that 1.3m units in the U.S. A worldwide tour began June 25 in Norway and wraps September 20 in L.A.

Exit Strategy for the Soul
Pop/Rock - Canadian singer/songwriter and critical fave is back with fourteen new tracks recorded in London and Havana, lending some rhythmic heat to Sexsmith's elegant pop song structures. New project is notable for the extensive use of horn arrangements as well as Sexsmith's own version of "Brandy Alexander" - a song he co-wrote with Feist and which appears on her recent "The Reminder." Martin Terefe produced the new sessions, who also worked on Sexsmith's '05 album "Retriever" and 02's "Cobblestone Runway."
